Arquest

A practical and easy-to-use tool for customer satisfaction

Arquest, the second-largest private-label diaper manufacturer in North America, has installed Synergy 2000™ SPC software on each of its production lines to monitor such critical quality variables as absorbency, leakage control and fit.

Ease of use was an important requirement during the software evaluation process. "The data entry function is very user friendly," says Process Analyst Bobby Clayborn, who points out that "Operators only need to be concerned with potential problems based on the red, yellow or green visual cues that prompt them to react. It doesn't require us to have highly trained statisticians on the shop floor. And while we appreciate its practicality and simplicity, we didn't have to compromise on features. Synergy 2000 provides us with extremely sophisticated results."

Clayborn himself uses the analytical functions to query data and produce detailed management-level quality reports. He can select certain criteria such as batch, line number, operator, assignable cause, corrective action, date or time, and instantly display all matching data. "Analytical work that used to take as much as a day can be completed in just a few minutes," he emphasizes. "The system has proved that it's much more than a production tool. From incoming raw materials, material testing and performance tracking, we see boundless opportunities for running the business."
